November 12th is Disney Day and Disney+ is going big with countless films, series and documentaries, including Jungle Cruise, Dopesick and Home Sweet Home Alone. At the end of the month, the streaming service will also release the Marvel series Hawkeye.
This November, Hawkeye, about Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton premieres. And that’s not the only new Marvel content coming to streaming: If you missed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings when it was in theaters this fall, you’ll be able to watch it on Disney+ now, too. This year’s Jungle Cruise movie starring Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson also streams, as does the premiere of the highly anticipated Beatles docuseries from legendary director Peter Jackson, The Beatles: Get Back. See what other movies and shows are becoming available below.
Series
Dopesick – Season 1
The true story of Dopesick shows how a painkiller became one of America’s most dangerous narcotics. While the manufacturer of Oxycodone maintains that less than 1 percent of users become addicted, the drug is making more and more victims.
Hit-Monkey – Season 1
M.O.D.O.K. is no longer the weirdest Marvel character on Disney+, that spot will be taken by Hit-Monkey from November 17. When hit man Bryce is killed in Japan, his soul becomes linked to a Japanese macaque and Bryce turns this monkey into a cold-blooded killer.
Hawkeye – Season 1
After WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, it’s now Hawkeye’s turn to make Disney+ unsafe. Clint “Hawkeye” Barton wants to spend Christmas with his family, but when a masked hero shows up, he can no longer run from his violent past.
The Beatles: Get Back
The 1970 documentary Let It Be follows the highs and lows of The Beatles as they record the album of the same name. The makers still had a lot of footage left and this ended up under lock and key for half a century. Director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings) has restored this extraordinary archive footage and turned it into a new three-part documentary series.
Movies
Jungle Cruise (2021)
For just over two bucks extra you could already see the theme park movie Jungle Cruise on Disney+ within the VIP environment, but the adventure film is available to all subscribers from Disney Day. In Jungle Cruise, scientist Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) goes in search of a mythical tree that could cure all diseases. For that she has to go deep into the Amazon and the only person who dares this adventure is Captain Frank Wolff (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson).
Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)
In the sixth part of the Home Alone film series, another boy is forgotten. This time it’s 10-year-old smarty Max (Archie Yates from Jojo Rabbit) and while his family is on a plane to Tokyo, he has to protect the house from two clumsy burglars.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Unlike Jungle Cruise, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings only came out in theaters and will be streaming on Disney+ for the first time on Disney Day. The story is about Sean (Simu Liu), who at first glance is an ordinary twenty-something with a mind-numbing side job. But he turns out to be the son of Chinese crime boss Wenwu (Tony Leung) and this deadly mobster wants Sean to succeed him.
