Entertainment giant Disney has been providing the most beautiful gems for years. With their own streaming service Disney Plus where all those Pixar, animation and Marvel classics are bundled. But what are the best movies on Disney Plus? We have list them here in random order for you!
10. Thor: Ragnarok
MCU movies have always been delightfully insane, but director Taika Waititi gave Thor an unprecedented boost with Ragnarok. An intergalactic road trip with a newfound, hilarious thunder god turned out to be a bull’s eye. Ragnarok, with new characters like Valkyrie and perfectly used old characters like Loki and Hulk, is in our opinion one of the best MCU films and therefore certainly one of the best films on Disney+.
9. The Grand Budapest Hotel
Since the arrival of the extra ‘category’ Star, there are suddenly dozens, if not hundreds of films and series on Disney+. Now you can binge the quirky master director Wes Anderson’s film oeuvre, too. If his movies deserve a spot in this list of the best movies on Disney+, but The Grand Budapest Hotel is arguably his best production yet. Why? It is typical Wes Anderson with, among other things, a top cast full of A-listers, shots that are works of art in themselves, a lot of intriguing characters and an engaging story in a magical setting.
8. Coco
Coco is set in Mexico during Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday that honors the dead. The Pixar film revolves around a 12-year-old boy Miguel who dreams of becoming a musician. The problem, however, is that he comes from a family that has banned music for generations! To prove himself and uncover his family history Miguel enters the realm of the dead… resulting in one of the best movies on Disney Plus.
7. Frozen
You probably won’t be able to hear the broken song Let It Go anymore, but if you leave that irritation out for a while, you’ll end up with a masterful animation film. Frozen is completely Disney. Everything is in it. A magical fairytale setting, mysterious creatures and a good dose of musical. And that Elsa doesn’t need a man to be a Disney princess is a nice side effect. Come on, we’re turning on this Disney+ movie one more time!
6. Toy Story 3
Choosing from one of the four Toy Story movies is of course an impossible task. Still, we’re going for part 3 because of that perfect, full circle ending. You know, that part where your tears fell like a waterfall from your eyes. Woody, Buzz and the Toy Gang have had many adventures, but this one is definitely one of the best movies on Disney Plus. So long, mate.
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The most emotional and clever Disney+ movie in the Marvel stable? That is undoubtedly Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. The team of A-holes is completely attuned to each other and splashes off the screen. With cool new characters and a thunderous soundtrack, this sequel surpasses the very original first part. But the real star of the show is Yondu. This space pirate turns out to be the daddy we all secretly wish.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Captain Jack Sparrow loses his ship the Black Pearl to his nemesis, Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). When Barbossa invades the city of Port Royal and kidnaps Governor’s daughter Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), their paths cross again. To get his Black Pearl back, Jack teams up with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), who is secretly in love with Elizabeth.
3. Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Endgame delighted every Marvel fan. And what do you want after a build-up of 21 movies. The pressure on directors Joe and Anthony Russo was undoubtedly enormous, but they managed to bring the MCU as we knew it to a smashing climax. Every character got a moment to shine and the OG-Avengers got a well-deserved, temporary goodbye. One of the best Marvel movies ever and also one of the best movies on Disney Plus.

“Naaaaaaaants ingonyama!” Right from the start, The Lion King teleports you to another world. A world that you have probably visited a dozen times. But The Lion King is a timeless animation classic that you watch over and over with the same magical feeling. No matter how often little Simba sings ‘I just can’t wait to be king’, that smile is never far away.
1. Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back
There can only be one Star Wars movie that can be the best and that is: The Empire Strikes Back. The reason? That one is very simple. This is where the Star Wars world really opened up: we hop from ice planet Hoth to Yoda on Dagobah. New characters, such as Lando and Boba Fett, made an unforgettable impression. The big revelations are also piling up. Nothing beats Darth Vader’s ‘I am your father!’ – still the biggest and best twist in modern cinema history. Without a doubt one of the best movies on Disney Plus.
